Overview
WS4054 is a highly integrated, cost-effective single-cell lithium-ion battery charger. It employs constant-current/constant-voltage linear control and requires minimal external components, making it ideal for portable applications. It is compatible with both USB power supply and adapter power supply operation. The device features an internal PMOSFET architecture with reverse-charge protection, eliminating the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Its thermal feedback function automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the die temperature during high-power operation or in high-temperature environments. The float voltage is fixed at 4.2V. The charge current can be programmed up to 500mA via an external resistor on the PROG pin. When the input voltage is removed, the WS4054 automatically enters a low-current state with a battery leakage current of less than 3uA. Additional features include charge current monitoring, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and a status pin for indicating charge status and input voltage presence.
