ZJA3100 is a wideband fully differential amplifier with gain set by two pairs of matched resistors. The device offers significant advantages over simple op amps for driving various differential-input ADCs or transmitting signals over long lines. It provides a 145 MHz -3 dB bandwidth while consuming only 4.6 mA of supply current. It eliminates the balun transformer typically required by high-performance high-speed ADCs, and achieves excellent low-frequency and DC precision in input voltage and current offset. The common-mode level of the differential output is programmable via the VOCM pin, with a range extending to within 1 V of either supply rail, enabling easy level shifting of input signals to drive single-supply differential-input ADCs. This combination of features also makes the ZJA3100 an ideal driver for high-performance SAR ADCs and Σ-Δ ADCs, which demand both DC precision and fast settling time from the ADC's large sampling capacitance. The ZJA3100 can be used as a differential line driver for transmitting high-speed signals over low-cost twisted-pair or coaxial cables. Its wide supply range makes it well suited for a broad range of general applications, such as analog or digital video signal transmission. The external feedback network can be optimized to boost high-frequency components of the signal, accommodating low-pass filtering in the signal path. Compared to discrete line driver solutions, the ZJA3100 offers significant cost savings, improved performance, and reduced board area. The ZJA3100 is available in 8-pin SOIC, 8-pin MSOP, and 16-pin QFN packages, operating over an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
