Overview
The ADM3232E is a 3.3V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interface with low power consumption and high data rate capability. The ADM3232E features a proprietary low dropout transmitter output stage that delivers true RS-232 performance from a 3.3V to 5.5V supply. The device operates from a 3.3V supply using only four small, standard 0.1μF external capacitors. The ADM3232E incorporates two receivers and two drivers. The device is guaranteed to operate at data rates of 120Kbps while maintaining RS-232 output levels. Typical applications include laptop, subnotebook, and palmtop computers, battery-powered equipment, handheld devices, peripherals, and printers.
