Overview
SP3232E is a 3.3V-powered communication interface IC compliant with EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 standards, featuring low power consumption and high data rate capability. The device employs a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage to deliver true RS-232 performance from a 3.3V to 5.5V supply. Operating from a 3.3V supply, the device requires only four 0.1μF standard external capacitors. The SP3232E integrates two receivers and two transmitters. The device is guaranteed to operate at data rates up to 120kbps while maintaining RS-232 output levels.
