Overview
The MAX3232E is an EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interface with 3.3V supply, featuring low power consumption and high data rate capability. The MAX3232E uses a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage to provide true RS-232 performance from 3.3V to 5.5V supply voltage. The device requires only four small 0.1μF standard external capacitors to operate from a 3.3V supply. The MAX3232E contains two receivers and two drivers. The device is guaranteed to operate at data rates up to 120Kbps while maintaining RS-232 output levels. Typical applications include notebook computers, sub-notebook computers, and PDAs, battery-powered equipment, handheld devices, peripherals, and printers.
