Overview
The BRCL4056SE is an ESOP-8 packaged IC for constant-current/constant-voltage linear charging management of single-cell lithium batteries. The device integrates a power transistor internally, eliminating the need for external current-sense resistors and blocking diodes. Requiring minimal external components, the BRCL4056SE is ideally suited for portable applications. The constant-voltage charge regulation is fixed at 4.2V with 1% accuracy, and the charge current is set via a single external resistor. A thermal regulation circuit controls the die temperature within a safe range during high power dissipation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. When the input voltage is removed, the BRCL4056SE automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, reducing battery drain to less than 2uA. Additional features include input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, chip enable input, battery temperature monitoring, and charge status indication.
