Overview
The MAX3232E interface IC consists of two driver channels, two receiver channels, and a dual charge pump circuit, with ±15kV IEC ESD protection on the serial port. The MAX3232E complies with TIA/EIA-232-F requirements, providing an electrical interface between asynchronous communication controllers and serial port connectors. The on-chip charge pump and four small external capacitors support single-supply operation from 3V to 5.5V. The MAX3232E supports data signaling rates up to 500kbit/s, with a driver output slew rate of up to 30V/μs.
