Overview
The SN65LBC184 is a 5V half-duplex RS-485 bus transceiver integrating one driver and one receiver. It supports a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V, data rates up to 500Kbps, and up to 256 nodes on a single bus. The bus pins feature ±15kV HBM protection and support hot-swap capability, ensuring the driver and receiver outputs remain in a high-impedance state during power-up and power-down. The receiver provides full fail-safe protection against open-circuit, short-circuit, and termination fault conditions; the driver offers overvoltage and overcurrent protection. Operating temperature range is -40 to +85℃, available in DIP8 and SOP8 packages.
