CN3153

CN3153 is an integrated circuit designed for constant-current/constant-voltage charging management of single-cell lithium batteries. The device integrates a power transistor internally, eliminating the need for external current-sense resistors and blocking diodes. CN3153 requires minimal external components, making it ideal for portable applications. A thermal regulation circuit keeps the chip temperature within a safe range when the device dissipates high power or operates in elevated ambient temperatures. The constant-voltage charge voltage is adjustable via an external resistor, and the charge current is set by an external resistor. When the battery voltage is low, CN3153 enters trickle charge mode, with the trickle charge current selectable at 10% or 100% of the constant charge current. When the input voltage is removed, CN3153 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, during which battery current consumption is less than 3μA. Additional features include battery short-circuit protection, input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and charge status/charge complete status indication. CN3153 is available in a thermally enhanced 8-pin small outline package (SOP8/PP) and a standard 8-pin small outline package (SOP8).
