The LMV552 dual op-amp is available in environmentally friendly SOP-8 and MSOP-8 packages. The LMV554 quad op-amp is available in environmentally friendly SOP-14 and TSSOP-14 packages. The LMV552/554 series op-amps are unity-gain stable and suitable for a wide range of general-purpose applications. The LMV552/554 series can be powered by a 2.1V ~ 5.5V single supply or ±1.05V ~ ±2.75V dual supply. For optimum performance in single-supply operation, a 0.1µF ceramic capacitor should be placed close to the VDD pin. In dual-supply operation, both VDD and VSS supplies should be bypassed to ground with individual 0.1µF ceramic capacitors. The low supply current of the LMV552/554 series (typically 250µA per channel) helps extend battery life, making it well suited for battery-powered systems. The LMV552/554 series operates over a wide supply voltage range of 2.1V ~ 5.5V. Furthermore, all temperature specifications apply from −40℃ ~ +125℃. Most performance parameters remain unchanged across the entire operating voltage range. These characteristics ensure proper operation throughout the entire service life of a single lithium-ion battery. The input common-mode range of the LMV552/554 series extends 100mV beyond the supply rails (VSS − 0.1V ~ VDD + 0.1V), achieved through the use of a complementary input stage. During normal operation, the inputs should be kept within this range. Rail-to-rail output swing provides the maximum possible dynamic range at the output, which is especially important when operating at low supply voltages. Under light resistive loads (>100kΩ), the output voltage of the LMV552/554 series typically swings to within 2mV of either supply rail; under moderate resistive loads (10kΩ), it swings to within 60mV of either supply rail. The LMV552/554 series is optimized for bandwidth and speed, not for driving capacitive loads. Output capacitance introduces a pole in the amplifier's feedback path, causing excessive peaking and potential oscillation. If the application requires handling load capacitance, two strategies may be considered: (1) insert a small series resistor between the amplifier output and the load capacitance; (2) reduce the bandwidth of the amplifier feedback loop by increasing the overall noise gain.
