Overview
MSTP4054-42 is a single-cell lithium-ion battery constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger. Its minimal external circuitry makes it ideal for portable devices. Compatible with both USB power and adapter power, it integrates an internal reverse-current protection circuit, eliminating the need for an external blocking diode. A thermal feedback mechanism automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the chip temperature during high-power operation or in high-temperature environments. The device has a full-charge voltage of 4.2V, and the charge current is programmable via an external resistor. When the charge current drops to the end-of-charge (EOC) current, the charging process terminates automatically. Once the input power is removed, the device automatically enters a low-current standby mode with a standby current as low as 5nA.
