SN65HVD1040DR-JSM

The SN65HVD1040 meets or exceeds the specifications required for applications using a Controller Area Network (CAN) as defined in the ISO11898 standard. As a CAN transceiver, the SN65HVD1040 provides differential transmission and reception for CAN controllers with signal transmission rates up to 1Mbps. The SN65HVD1040 is designed to operate in harsh environments, featuring ±12kV ESD protection on the bus pins, bus voltage support from -58V to 58V, and built-in over-temperature protection and short-circuit protection circuits. The STB input (pin 8) is used to select between two different operating modes: high-speed mode or low-power mode. High-speed operating mode can be selected by connecting the STB pin to ground. When a logic high level is applied to the STB pin of the SN65HVD1040, the device enters a low-power bus monitor standby mode. While the SN65HVD1040 is operating in low-power bus monitor standby mode, a dominant bit on the bus lasting more than 5us is passed through the bus monitor circuit to the receiver output. The local protocol controller can then reactivate the device when it needs to transmit data to the bus.
