Overview
These are TTL hex buffers/drivers with high-voltage open-collector outputs, suitable for interfacing with high-voltage circuits (such as MOS), driving high-current loads (such as indicator lamps or relays), or as buffers for driving TTL inputs. The SN5407 and SN7407 have a minimum breakdown voltage of 30V, while the SN5417 and SN7417 have a minimum breakdown voltage of 15V. The SN5407 and SN5417 have a maximum sink current of 30mA, and the SN7407 and SN7417 have a maximum sink current of 40mA. These devices implement the Boolean function Y = A in positive logic. These circuits are fully compatible with most TTL families. Inputs are diode-clamped to minimize transmission line effects and simplify design. Typical power dissipation is 145mW, with an average propagation delay time of 14ns.
