Overview
The SN65C3232E/SN75C3232E interface IC integrates two drivers, two receivers, and a dual charge pump circuit, with ±15kV IEC ESD protection on the serial port. The device complies with TIA/EIA-232-F and provides an electrical interface between asynchronous communication controllers and serial port connectors. The on-chip charge pump, combined with four small external capacitors, supports single-supply operation from 3V to 5.5V. The SN65C3232E/SN75C3232E supports data signaling rates up to 1Mbit/s, with a driver output slew rate of up to 30V/μs.
