Overview
The TP4056 is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger for single-cell lithium-ion batteries. Its simple external application circuit makes it ideal for portable device applications, suitable for both USB power supply and adapter power operation. An internal reverse-charge protection circuit eliminates the need for an external blocking diode. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the die temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The TP4056 has a charge termination voltage of 4.2V, and the charge current can be set via an external resistor. When the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, the TP4056 automatically terminates the charging process. When the input voltage is removed, the TP4056 automatically enters a low-current standby state, with the standby current dropping to 1uA.
