FM4063

FM4063 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charge management IC. The VCC port features an ultra-high voltage tolerance of up to 30V with input overvoltage protection. During charging, when the input voltage exceeds 6V (typical), the OVP function activates and terminates charging, effectively preventing IC damage caused by excessive input voltage or high-voltage spikes at the moment a charger is connected. The device provides battery reverse-polarity protection and can withstand positive and negative pulse transients. Charging is controlled via constant current/constant voltage linear regulation. Due to the internal PMOSFET architecture combined with an anti-backflow circuit, no external sense resistors or isolation diodes are required. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charging current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. The full-charge voltage is fixed at 4.25V, while the charging current is externally programmable via a single resistor. Once the battery reaches 4.25V, the charging current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, and FM4063 automatically terminates charging. When no charger is connected, FM4063 automatically enters a low-current state with battery leakage current below 2uA. Additional features of FM4063 include a charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins for indicating end-of-charge and input voltage presence.
